In order to optimize oil stability and flavor, proper handling suggestions for OmegaPure are as follows :
- Shelf life for OmegaPure with added TBHQ in its original unopened container is up to one (1) year frozen at -10º F, and up to three (3) months refrigerated at 40° F.
- Once opened, OmegaPure should be used immediately to reduce oxidation.
- Nitrogen blanket while handling/adding OmegaPure to help reduce oxidation.
- Exposure to heat, light, air, and metals may increase oxidation and the possibility of off notes. Reduce exposure to these conditions.
- If possible, add OmegaPure as a blend to your system after any heating/cooling cycles or vortex mixing of your product.
- If possible, add OmegaPure late in your production process.
- If vortex mixing is required, we recommend doing so under a nitrogen blanket.
- Utilize/maximize chelating agents in your formulation when possible.
- Avoid additions of unencapsulated vitamin and mineral packages directly to the oil or skim milk powders which may be high in iron or other metals.
- When possible, we suggest utilization of opaque packaging for your final product.
- OmegaPure works best in food products which are refrigerated or frozen.
